KTM’s talented young American rider Blake Wharton was the clear winner in both heats of the 125ccm Junior World Championships in Bulgaria on Sunday, August 12th, to add yet another title and trophy to his collection.KTM also scored a second podium position in the 85ccm class when French rider Jordi Tixier came home in third overall place to wrap up a good junior championship for the Austrian manufacturer.
Even before the event in Sevlievo, Bulgaria, some 150 km north of the capital Sofia, the brand new world champion has been has been excelling in events at home in the USA. Earlier in the year he scooped no less than five titles in Vegas at the World Mini Grand Prix. Blake had already established his intention during the qualification heats of the competition to snatch the best start position on Sunday. He then went on to win both races in style, signaling that his is a name to watch in senior competitions in the very near future.
Riders raced on the 1.695 m Grand Prix course, which earlier in the season hosted senior MX world championship rounds.
